Kal Penn is back at the White House.

The actor who played Kumar in the "Harold and Kumar" film series worked on Monday at the Office of Public Engagement, ABC News reports. Penn "will be the point person for those in the Arts, Youth, and Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities," a spokesman said.

Penn, whose given name is Kalpen Modi, left the television show "House" to join the White House in April 2009, but later departed the post to honor a previous commitment to film a Christmas-themed "Harold and Kumar" installment.
