Margaret Cho was one of those contestants coming into this week of Dancing With the Stars on the bubble. She tried to incorporate some comedy into last week’s routine and it didn’t go over well at all. This week Margaret Cho pushed the comedy aside and focused herself on doing the dance. She wants to show that she can be serious and do the 2010 DWTS competition without joking around.

Margaret Cho’s performance was a big improvement over last week. She did a jive that at times seemed a little out of synch with her partner and maybe a little awkward, but any idea of comic relief was gone and she seemed to be really trying her heart out. The judges like her. They had some ideas for her and criticized a few things, but over all they thought she took a big step forward this week. She seemed to be really happy with the judge’s scores on last nights Dancing With The Stars.

Back in the Dancing With the Stars waiting area Margaret Cho was beaming. You could tell she was proud of herself. When the scores came down she got an 18, three points better than the week before. She thanked everyone and seemed grateful to be there. It looks like maybe she is going to take this seriously and put a real effort into it. I don’t know if she has the raw talent to stick around too long, but she clearly has the drive and the heart. She probably did enough this week to survive to dance another day.

Margaret Cho better thank Michael Bolton for doing so terrible last night because he is most likely the one going home on tonight’s Dancing With The Stars live results show at 9|8c on ABC.
